Overnight care

Reassuring overnight support — a waking night for hands-on help, or a sleep-in night for peace of mind — so everyone at home can rest easy.

What overnight care involves

Reassurance through the night

Nights can be the hardest part of the day — for the person needing care and for the family listening out. Overnight care puts an experienced carer in the home so everyone can finally sleep.

Choose a waking night, where your carer is up and on hand throughout, or a sleep-in night, where they rest nearby and are there the moment they’re needed. Either way, mornings start calmer for everyone.

Waking nights

A carer awake and on hand all night for regular or unpredictable needs.

Sleep-in nights

A carer resting nearby, ready the moment they’re needed.

Safe till morning

Help to the toilet, repositioning and reassurance through the small hours.

Everyone rests

Peace of mind for the family, and calmer mornings all round.

Signs overnight care would help

  • Nights are unsettled, with waking, wandering or frequent calls for help.
  • A family carer is exhausted from being ‘on duty’ all night.
  • There’s a risk of falls getting up in the dark.
  • Reassurance is needed after a hospital stay or a change in health.
  • Everyone would simply sleep better knowing someone was there.

Questions

The things families usually ask

Anything we haven’t covered, just call — we would rather talk it through than have you guess.

What’s the difference between a waking night and a sleep-in?

On a waking night the carer is up and on hand throughout; on a sleep-in the carer rests nearby and is there the moment they’re needed.

Can we book just the occasional night?

Yes — a single night, a regular pattern, or ongoing cover, whatever suits.

Does the carer need somewhere to rest?

For a sleep-in, yes — somewhere comfortable nearby. For a waking night, just a place to sit between tasks.

Can overnight care lead to more support?

Easily — if needs grow, we can add day visits or round-the-clock care without changing provider.
