Personal care

Respectful help with washing, dressing, continence and the daily routines that keep life comfortable — always at your pace, and always led by you.

What personal care involves

Help with the everyday, offered with dignity

Personal care is the quiet, practical help that makes each day easier — washing, dressing, using the toilet, moving around safely. It is often the hardest help to accept, so we lead gently, explain as we go, and never rush.

The same small team visits wherever we can, so you are not starting again with a stranger each time. We fit around your routine — an early start, a bath before bed, a hand at the moments that matter — not the other way around.

Nothing is hurried. We follow your lead, your preferences and your sense of what feels right.

Is it right for you?

Signs a little help would go a long way

  • Washing or dressing has quietly become too tiring or difficult to manage alone.
  • Clothes, hair or the home aren’t as cared-for as they once were.
  • Getting up from a chair or moving around feels less steady than it did.
  • Meals are being skipped because cooking has become too much.
  • You would simply feel happier knowing someone reliable was calling in.

Questions

The things families usually ask

Anything we haven’t covered, just call — we would rather talk it through than have you guess.

Will it be the same carer each time?

We keep a small, consistent team around each person so visits stay familiar, with cover from carers who already know how you like things done.

How short or long can a visit be?

From a brief call to a good few hours — as much or as little as you need, and easy to adjust as things change.

Mum is embarrassed about accepting help. What then?

That’s completely normal. We start gently, explain everything, and let trust build — most people are far more comfortable within a visit or two.

Can visits change over time?

Yes — up or down, and easy to combine with other support, without changing provider or starting again with strangers.
